Production Background & Approach

An extensive visual documentation collaboration with contemporary art gallery Simbart Projects since 2021. This ongoing retrospective encompasses architectural space photography of all exhibitions hosted at the gallery’s permanent Çukurcuma venue and art fairs, combined with museum-grade, color-calibrated technical reproduction captures of contemporary artworks. Spatial Architecture & Curatorial Perspective: Set within the historic architectural character of Çukurcuma and Beyoğlu, each exhibition is documented by balancing natural daylight with gallery directional lighting to convey spatial depth, curatorial flow, and site-specific installation setups. Artwork Reproduction & Technical Fine Art Photography: High-resolution technical captures of oil on canvas, works on paper, mixed media, ceramic, and sculpture. Through strict color calibration and raking illumination, every reproduction faithfully preserves authentic surface textures, impasto brushwork, and material nuances for international catalogues and permanent digital archives. Curated Artists & Institutional Archive: Produced under WE24 Agency and led by Harutyun Arto Davulciyan (Fine Art & Architectural Photographer / Color Grading & Retouch), this long-term documentation serves as an exhaustive institutional archive for over 40 emerging and established Turkish contemporary artists represented and exhibited by Simbart Projects.

About Simbart Projects

Simbart Projects was founded in 2018 to enhance the visibility of independent contemporary artists. For its first two years, Simbart organized pop-up solo exhibitions in diverse venues across Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district. In 2020, the gallery relocated to its permanent physical space on Çukurcuma Street. Since its inception, Simbart Projects has collaborated with more than 40 emerging and established figures in Turkish contemporary art through a meticulously curated exhibition program, continuing to represent its artists at leading local and international art fairs.
